Earlier this month we attended the annual LGITSA workshop, held at Serafino in McLaren Vale.

This year’s theme was “Stop. Collaborate & Listen”. It’s a great opportunity for those working in and those who support Local Government Information Technology, to come together to share and discuss experiences, opportunities, trends, new technology etc.

We are proud to have been gold sponsors of LGITSA for a number of years now, and appreciate these opportunities to hear directly from those working in the Local Government Information Technology industry.

The two-day workshop offered a rich program of presentations, exploring topics such as:

  • cyber and data protection,
  • how ICT can enable better citizen experiences, and
  • collaborating through shared services.

There was a very interesting debate including City of Holdfast Bay and City of West Torrens about utilising cloud-based, over locally hosted technology.

Port Pirie Regional Council shared the innovative ways they are using technology to create a connected culture, that is also strengthening their tourism and economic development.

We are excited to be working further with Port Pirie Regional Council later this year when we install their new back up power generator.

This will add to the many projects we have conducted for local government councils, including the back up power generator for City of Burnside last year.
